Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Scottsdale was ranked the No. 1 city for renters by WalletHub. To determine the rankings, WalletHub compared "key quality-of-life measures," such as job market, weather, recreation-friendliness, safety, and quality of the public school system, in "more than 180 rental markets across the United States." Scottsdale has been "one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S." over the past two decades, and it is also one of the "fastest-growing cities for millionaires." Chandler also made the list for renters by landing the No. 9 spot. (CNBC)
  2. The city's Veterans Advisory Commission is seeking nominations for the Scottsdale Salutes program. The program honors current and past residents who are veterans, currently serving in the armed forces, or are guard/reserve members by proudly displaying their photos on banners that hang from street light poles throughout Old Town during the month of November. You can submit a nomination here. You can learn about the 2022 Scottsdale Salutes Honorees here. Special shout out to my husband, Joseph, who was honored in this program last year! (City of Scottsdale)
  3. Paiute Neighborhood Center's free little library is in need of book donations. Please consider donating any extra children's books to the center, which serves children up to sixth grade. You can call 480-312-2529 for more information. (City of Scottsdale)
