  1. The city has made three proposals to address challenges with short-term rentals and restore the quality of life in Scottsdale neighborhoods. The city is requesting that Arizona Legislature amend state law to allow local governments to cap the total number of STRs, limit the density of STRs in specified areas, and create separation requirements between STRs. The proposals will be presented at the League of Arizona Cities and Towns national conference on Aug. 29, and the city is "confident they will become part of the league's legislative agenda for the 2024 session of the Arizona Legislature." 2. Prepare to "indulge in the flavors of Scottsdale" during 2023 Fall Arizona Restaurant Week from Sept. 8 to 17! Plan your experience by checking out participating restaurants and their menus here. More restaurants are being added daily, but some of the Scottsdale restaurants participating so far include Buck & Rider, Campo Italian Bistro & Bar, Federal American Grill, Olive & Ivy, and Roaring Fork. (Experience Scottsdale via Facebook)
  3. Three individuals were attacked by bees on Wednesday, marking the third bee attack in the Valley this past week. The incident occurred near Bell and Pima roads, and none of the individuals involved required hospitalization. The beehive involved is expected to be removed. (Fox 10 Phoenix)
  4. The Arizona Court of Appeals ruled that Ian Mitcham's DNA can be used as evidence in the Allison Feldman murder case. Feldman was killed in her Scottsdale home in 2018, and Mitcham was taken into custody as a suspect linked to the crime. The DNA sample in question was collected from Mitcham "as part of an unrelated DUI case in 2015" and will now be used as evidence. (NewsBreak)
