  1. A Scottsdale family has had two cars crash into their block wall within a month of owning their home near Cactus and Scottsdale roads. The Beasley's have a 7-year-old and a new baby coming home from the hospital soon, but they are concerned for their children's safety with these recent events and vehicles frequently speeding near their home. The family plans to make a request to Scottsdale City Council to have speed cameras installed or police stationed near the intersection to address the speeding issues. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  2. A motorcyclist has died after a crash around 3:30 p.m. last Friday afternoon on the Loop 101 onramp at Scottsdale Road. The man, who has not been identified, was on the ramp when "another vehicle ran him over." The motorcyclist died at the scene. (Arizona's Family)
  3. Scottsdale Parks and Recreation is inviting residents to a free luau and "dive-in" movie on Sunday, July 30 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at the Eldorado Aquatic Center, 2301 N. Miller Road. This annual Safety Luau "will teach you the importance of water safety while practicing your hula skills." Guests will enjoy free open-swim and can watch "Lilo & Stitch" at the end of the night. The event serves to kick off Drowning Impact Awareness Month in August, during which Scottsdale Aquatics will offer free learn-to-swim lessons for all ages. Registration for these August swim lessons begins on July 25. (City of Scottsdale)
