Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Residents can now get information about new developments happening in their neighborhoods easier and faster. The city will now mail notification for "general plan and rezoning cases to surrounding properties within 1,250 feet, formerly 750 feet." Applicants will also be required to provide "online case fact sheets with a summary of project changes" each time they resubmit to the city. Applicants will also be required to detail whether they complied with community outreach best practices. (City of Scottsdale)
  2. The city is seeking input from residents about vaping, a significant challenge for schools and public health, to assist with the development of programs to reduce usage. Join Speak Up Scottsdale to get involved. Share your experiences, opinions, and thoughts by taking the "Vaping Survey." (City of Scottsdale)
  3. A racist video went viral three years ago, and an innocent Scottsdale art gallery that happened to appear in the background continues to pay the price. The man in the video lived above the previous store location but had no affiliation with the store itself, and the business owner did not appear in the video. The owner moved her store to a new location and changed the name of her business to Crane & Crow Gallery, yet she continues to have to be on guard. She receives threatening phone calls often, and this past Sunday, someone put a rock through the window. (12News)
