Coast Guard Searching For Missing Bay Area Boater

The man was out fishing with his brother when their boat capsized, authorities said.

DUTTON ISLAND, CA —

UPDATE: The boater was not found on Tuesday. A Coast Guard search resumed on Wednesday


Emergency crews are searching Tuesday for a missing fisherman off Dutton Island in the Carquinez Strait, according to authorities.

A man swam up to a good Samaritan’s dock on the island and told the person that his boat had capsized around 11 p.m. Monday while he and his brother were fishing, and his brother was still missing, according to a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard.

The missing boater has short blonde hair and was wearing brown coveralls, the news release said. If anyone sees signs of distress on waterways in the area, call 415-399-7300.
