How Long Will This Humid Heat Wave Stick Around Westwood-Century?

Above normal temperatures and humidity are forecast for the entire week.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Temperatures reached triple-digit territory in L.A. County Monday as a ridge of high pressure keeps the heat somewhat above normal for much of the week, forecasters said.

However, the deviation from average temperatures will not be huge, they said. Downtown L.A., for instance, was expected to reach a high of 91 degrees Monday, compared to the average, which is 84, said National Weather meteorologist Curt Kaplan. Woodland Hills, where 96 is normal for this time of the year, was expected to reach 100 Monday, he said.

Monday's weather could feel hotter than it is, Kaplan said, adding that the humidity level across much of L.A. County would be 30-40 percent.

Moonsoonal moisture from Mexico, meanwhile, may produce showers and thunderstorms Monday, including in the Antelope Valley, Kaplan said.
