The United Against Hate movement began in the Bay Area and was created by civic leaders in direct response to the sharp rise in expressions of hate in communities. They wanted to empower residents to take action in their local communities and alter the course of this growing intolerance. Since inception, United Against Hate Week has spread to over 200+ communities including LA County, faith-based groups, LGBTQ and human rights organizations, throughout California, and across the US.
