LOS ANGELES, CA — The intense atmospheric river-driven storm that caused flooding in Northern California is expected to move into Los Angeles Wednesday, but forecasters don’t expect it to pack much of a punch.

The brunt of the wet, warm storm is expected to remain to the north of Los Angeles, according to the National Weather Service. Though the storm caused flooding and road closures in the northern part of the state, Southern California is likely to see less than a quarter of an inch of rain, according to the weather service. Forecasters predict a 30 percent chance of rain Wednesday followed by a brief lull until Saturday when more rain is likely to drench the region.
