Temperatures To Drop Sharply By Week's End In Westwood-Century City

By the end of the work week, temperatures are expected to be nearly 20 degrees cooler than last weekend in Westwood-Century City.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Temperatures across the region are expected to drop sharply this week compared to the heat wave triggered by Santa Ana winds over the weekend.

With the dissipation of the Santa Anas, June gloom has returned with cloudy mornings giving way to sunny skies throughout the week. With the strengthening onshore flow comes a deepening marine layer with progressively higher humidity and cooler weather. That marine layer will deepen and spread far inland, to the coastal foothills and valleys.

Expect a cool day on Friday, as daytime temperatures will be approximately 15 degrees cooler than Monday.

Westerly winds will increase midweek and become strong and gusty through the passes and into the deserts, but it will be short-lived as warmer days return next week.

Along the Los Angeles coast, daytime highs are expected to hover in the mid to upper 60s all week. In the San Fernando Valley, daytime highs are expected to reach 85 degrees Tuesday before dropping nearly 20 degrees by Friday. Similarly, the San Gabriel Valley is expected to go from a high of 88 degrees on Tuesday down to 69 on Friday.
