Week Of Wet Weather To Waterlog Westwood-Century City

Friday will bring the first of a series of cold rainstorms to the region.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The first of a series of rainstorms is expected to hit Los Angeles Friday, dousing the Coliseum in the hours before the Rams playoff game and kicking off nearly a week of wet weather.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s storm will be mild. Light rain is expected to hit Los Angeles County beginning Friday night and continue through Saturday morning, dropping about a half-inch of rain on the region before a second mild storm moves in Sunday.

The heavy rainfall is expected midweek. A Thursday storm is expected to drop 1 to 3 inches, creating the risk of mudslides in burn areas.

A similarly weak weather system is forecast to move through the area on Sunday, with much heavier rain — 1 to 3 inches — expected to fall Thursday evening.

“We’re definitely entering a wet weather pattern here in Southern California,” National Weather Service meteorologist Rich Thompson told the Los Angeles Times. “It’ll really feel like winter,” Thompson said.
