Westwood-Century City Sunburn Warning: High UV Index On Tuesday

Tuesday's ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area will be 7, or high, according to the National Weather Service.

WESTWOOD-CENTURY CITY -- Don't forget your sunscreen on Tuesday if you have sensitive skin and are going to be spending 10 minutes or more at a time exposed to the sun.

Tomorrow's ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area will be 7, or high, according to the National Weather Service. A high exposure level reading of 7-9 means that a person could be sunburned in 7-8 minutes.

Ultraviolet radiation is blamed for a host of health problems, including skin cancer and cataracts.

The reading indicates what the UV exposure is expected to be at noon, when the sun's rays are at their strongest.
