The strongest winds are expected across Westwood-Century City and the LA region, and 45-mph gusts are possible, forecasters said.

LOS ANGELES, CA ― Strong winds will buffet mountain and valley areas of Los Angeles County from early Friday evening until late Saturday morning and may create problems for drivers, National Weather Service forecasters said.

A wind advisory indicating an expectation of winds or gusts of at least 35 miles per hour will go into effect at 6 p.m. in the San Gabriel Mountains and the Santa Clarita Valley, and at 10 p.m. in the Santa Monica Mountain Recreational area and the San Fernando Valley. In all cases, the advisory will expire at 11 a.m. Saturday.

In the San Gabriels, northwest-to-north winds will blow between 20 and 30 mph, with 50-mph gusts, forecasters said. The strongest winds are expected across the Interstate 5 corridor, and 60-mph gusts are possible, they said, adding that the most challenging roads in that area will be I-5 and the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, especially for motorists in high-profile vehicles.
