  1. What’s happening on Beach Boulevard? We learned on Monday that in Anaheim, “models for the 65-townhome Nolin community at Beach and Lincoln Avenue opened to the public.” The Covered Wagon Motel north of Ball Road has been red-tagged. There are plans for a shopping center development with the name 39 Commons. (HB News)
  2. Kudos to the Ocean View School District! The school attendance review boards recognized the OVSD, along with other Orange County districts Capistrano Unified, Irvine Unified, and Buena Park, for “exemplary practices that have contributed to reducing chronic absenteeism rates and improving student attendance.” (OCDE)
  3. Mark your calendars! The City will be hosting its “Youth in Government Day on Tuesday, April 26 from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.” This program is for HS students who want to learn more about the inner workings of the City government. If you have such a student in your home, they have until Friday to apply for the program. (City of HB)
  4. As it does every Monday, the Huntington Beach City School District has released its COVID-19 numbers for the 5,513 students and staff members at its facilities. One case was reported at Hawes Elementary. This school has a total of 516 individuals on the campus. (HBCSD)
  5. On April 21, there will be a workshop put on by Orange County Coastkeeper and the California Artificial Reef Enhancement Program entitled “Retiring Offshore Rigs.” It is an all-day event that you can attend in person or online. The workshop focuses on “clarifying the platform decommissioning process, identifying barriers, and creating actionable next steps to accelerate and improve the retirement of California's offshore rigs.” (ROR2022)
