LAGUNA BEACH, CA — In an effort to raise money to fund priorities within the City of Laguna Beach, city officials are considering a voter-approved increase in the hotel and short-term rental bed tax.

If approved by voters, the tax would fund priorities such as replacing the city's aging fire stations, expanding open spaces, boosting safety on Laguna Canyon Road, workforce and artist housing, and more.

Residents were urged to be a part of a Community Town Hall discussion on the matter set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. The meeting will be held at the Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q Center.
