Laguna Beach Ranks in Top 100 Most Expensive Homes List

Nine California cities are home to the most zip codes nationwide in Forbes magazine’s annual list of “America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes.” Laguna Beach neared the top 50, coming in at No. 61.

The list, based on median home price data, is the result of Altos Research’s examination of median home price data for more than 29,500 zip codes.

The first Orange County zip code to make it on Forbes’ list is from Newport Beach at No. 37. Others to make the top 100 are Newport Coast at No. 43; Newport Beach at No. 52 (92661); Corona del Mar at No. 55, and Laguna Beach at No. 61.

In Los Angeles County, the first city to show up is Hidden Hills at No. 8. Others to make the top 100 include Beverly Hills at No. 14; Santa Monica at No. 17; Los Angeles at No. 25 (90077); Malibu at No. 29; Rolling Hills at No. 30; Pacific Palisades at No. 41; San Marino at No. 46; Manhattan Beach at No. 53; Los Angeles again at No. 58 (90049); West Hollywood at No. 59; Duarte at No. 71; Beverly Hills again at No. 89; Palos Verdes Estates at No. 91.

San Diego’s cities with zip codes making it into the top 100 are Rancho Santa Fe at No. 42 (92067); Rancho Santa Fe at No. 62 (92091), and Del Mar at No. 77.

Santa Barbara came in at No. 23 behind San Francisco at No. 22 though an SF zip also came in at No. 45.

The top 5 zip codes in the country are: Atherton, CA, with a median home price of $10.56 million; followed by Sagaponack, NY at $7.41 million; then New York, NY at 7.3 million; Woody Creek, CO at $7 million, and New York, NY again at $6 million.
