Granada High School Students Honor Black History Month

GHS students created murals and posters honoring inspiring Black people that are displayed throughout campus.

LIVERMORE, CA — Granada High School’s Humans Against Hate Club teamed up with students from Kathryn Malson’s art classes to create a mural and posters to honor of Black History Month. The posters contain quotes from famous Black artists and activists like Aretha Franklin and Bob Marley. They also produced a mural of famous Black figures like Martin Luther King, Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, Tina Turner, Angela Davis, and more. See above for photos.

"We want our campus to include visual representations of culture that increase awareness and understanding, and want our student body to feel seen, accepted, and appreciated," Trenton Thomsen, founder of GHS's Humans Against Hate Club, said in a statement.
