Juneteenth Celebrations Coming To Livermore

Enjoy a day full of music, dance, drumming and more at Bankhead Plaza to commemorate the abolition of slavery.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore is again hosting one of the region’s largest Juneteenth celebrations, which celebrate the anniversary of the abolition of slavery.

On Saturday at Bankhead Plaza, visitors can enjoy an entire day of dance, song, drumming, and musical performances, sponsored by Livermore Valley Arts and Tri-Valley for Black Lives:

  • 10-11: Intro, Cheza Nami (African dance ensemble)
  • 11-12: Dr. Dyrell Foster (speaker), Alise Bradford and Moving Van (singer and band)
  • 12-1: The N.T.B. Collective (jazz trio), Imani Prior (youth dancer)
  • 1-2: Malik & Jess (youth dance duo), Urban Jazz Dance Company (deaf dance company), Sorinvibee (singer), Dr. Ramona Tascoe (speaker), STEPS by Kei-Che (deaf performer)
  • 2-3: Father’s Day Dance Off (audience participation), Ashley Jemison (saxophonist), East Bay Get Down Prelims (dance battle)
  • 3-4: St. Matthews Baptist Church Choir (choir), Jamey Williams (Poet)

On June 21, the Bankhead Theater will host its second annual Juneteenth Celebration with a two-hour performance from the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir. See here for tickets.
