Bicyclist Killed In Traffic Collision Near CSULB Identified

A 42-year-old bicyclist was fatally struck near CSULB on Friday, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A 42-year-old man riding a bicycle who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Long Beach was identified Saturday.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Keith Moore.

At about 5:05 a.m. Friday, police responded to the intersection of 7th Street and Campus Drive after reports of a traffic collision. When police arrived, they discovered a man lying unconscious on the sidewalk on 7th Street.

Paramedics responded and determined the man dead at the scene, the Long Beach Police Department said.

According to preliminary investigation results, the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on 7th Street when a car came from behind and struck him.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.At this time, police said speed, distracted driving or impaired driving were not considered factors in the crash.
