Armed Standoff Halts USC Metro Service Around USC

LOS ANGELES, CA — A gunman barricaded inside a business in the Exposition Park Area prompted police to divert traffic from the area Friday and halted nearby Metro trains.

The Los Angeles Police Department SWAT Team has been called into apprehend the man, who pointed a shotgun at an employee at a business in the 3000 block of South Flower Street.

The ongoing standoff prompted authorities to stop Metro E (Expo) Line trains running between the LATTC/Ortho Institute and Jefferson/USC stations.

The standoff began shortly before 10 a.m. Friday just west of the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
