Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for the 2024-25 year for schools in Los Angeles.

- First day of school: Aug. 12
- Admission Day: Aug. 30
- Labor Day: Sept. 2
- Rosh Hashanah (unassigned day): Oct. 3
- Veterans Day: Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-29
- Optional Winter Recess Academy: Dec. 16-18
- Winter Break: Dec. 16-Jan. 3
- Semester begins: Jan. 6
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Jan. 20
- Presidents Day: Feb. 17
- Cesar Chavez Day (unassigned day): March 31
- Spring Break: April 14-18
- Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day (unassigned day): April 24
- Memorial Day: May 26
- Last day of school: June 10
