Looking for a new intimate innovative steakhouse experience in LA? Head to Foxhall in Beverly Hills, the latest opening from Kia and Kathryne Illulian.

Executive Chef Marni Sandico perfects his steak dishes with wet aging and wood-fired grilling. Meats are chosen carefully from local farmers and aged 28 days. Steaks are the star here with rib eyes, a 32-ounce sharable porterhouse, New York and filet mignon cuts. Diners can also choose from a variety of seafood dishes including salmon, Chilean sea bass, a whole snapper and halibut. There’s also an outstanding spaghetti jalapeno with chicken and arugula.

We started with the salmon carpaccio, which featured delicious thin cut salmon, radish, zucchini and truffle oil. Foxhall also offers a beef carpaccio. Chef Sandico prepared a special off the menu Wagyu rolled carpaccio stuffed with rocket and drizzled with lemon juice alongside luscious crispy potato pave pieces topped with crème fraiche and caviar. We hope he added this appetizer to the menu because it was stunning.

We also enjoyed a nice wasabi shrimp cocktail filled with juicy big shrimp and a spicy sauce.

Mains included the filet and rib eye, both cooked perfectly and arriving with a nice crust and topped with blue cheese and roast garlic butter. Diners can also order the Béarnaise or Bordelaise sauces. Sides include the four-cheese potato gratin, our choice that was cheesy, hearty and comforting, roasted potatoes, broccolini, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, snap peas, fries or potato puree.

Chocoholics will love the chocolate soufflé for dessert. There’s also a Grand Marnier soufflé.

The atmosphere is cozy with green walls, dim lighting, brass railing and antique mirrors housed next to a long bar. Inside there are just 50 seats in comfy brown banquettes or tables or diners can venture to the patio area overlooking Robertson Boulevard.

Foxhall provides a welcome alternative to big grand expensive steakhouses, offering an intimate dining experience full of innovative and delicious dishes. We also loved that the prices were below most Beverly Hills steakhouses.

Foxhall is the perfect spot for a romantic date, celebration dinner or just to share a great steak dinner.
