Heaviest rain expected Saturday. Drive safely! (Breaking)

BAY AREA, CA – Widespread rain is expected this weekend in the San Francisco Bay and Monterey Bay areas, National Weather Service officials said.

The storm will move into the North Bay Friday evening and spread south on Saturday when the heaviest rain will fall.

Through 10 a.m. Monday, 1.27 inches is expected in Santa Rosa, nearly an inch in Napa and 0.75 inches in San Francisco, according to weather officials.

The storm will also bring breezy conditions to the area, with strong gusts in some places.

The winds will be strongest on Saturday, with gusts of 22 mph forecast for San Francisco and 41 mph in Half Moon Bay. Livermore may get gusts of 31 mph, weather service officials said.

The storm will also bring warmer weather with it. Saturday morning temperatures will rise a good 10 degrees compared to this morning, meteorologist Steve Anderson said.

Two more rainstorms are likely next week.
