Bacteria Warning Issued For Mother's Beach In Marina Del Rey

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health cautions residents before swimming or surfing at several beaches.

MARINA DEL REY, CA — An ocean water use warning is underway for several Los Angeles beaches, including Mother's Beach in Marina del Rey, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced Tuesday night.

"The warning has been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested," public health officials said.

Swimmers and surfers were cautioned before visiting the following beaches:

  • Pico-Kenter Storm Drain in Santa Monica. Santa Monica South Tower 20
  • Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey
  • Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
  • Santa Monica Canyon Creek at Will Rogers State Beach, Near Tower 18
  • Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro
  • Ashland Ave. Storm Drain in Santa Monica, Santa Monica South Tower 20
