MARINA DEL REY, CA — It's not quite the time to start a fire as the South Coast Air Quality Management District issued a residential no-burn alert Tuesday.

Residents are prohibited from burning wood or manufactured fire logs in indoor and outdoor residential wood-burning fireplaces and stoves due to elevated fine particulate levels forecast by the AQMD, the agency said.

"From November through the end of February, residents are asked to check before burning wood in their fireplaces to limit emissions of fine particulate matter," the agency said.
