LOS ANGELES, CA — Poor air quality over the Los Angeles region prompted air quality control officials to extend a no-burn order in Marina Del Rey.

The indoor and outdoor ban on wood burning was extended another 24 hours, according to the South Coast Air Quality Management District. It will remain in effect across the Southland until midnight Wednesday.

Particulates emitted in wood smoke can exacerbate pollution on days with poor air quality, causing respiratory problems such as asthma, according to officials.
