Authorities were warning residents to shelter-in-place in Mill Valley as crews responded to a smoldering storage facility fire.

MILL VALLEY, CA — A smokey blaze that erupted at a storage facility in Mill Valley prompted officials to urge nearby residents to shelter-in-place, according to officials.

The fire, reported at a Stor-All on Redwood Highway Frontage around 2 p.m., also spurred the closure of No-Name exit on southbound 101, Mill Valley Police tweeted. Residents of Shelter Ridge and Enchanted Knolls were asked to shelter-in-place, police said.

The fire was contained around 3 p.m., but smoke was still visible. The highway exit remained closed as of 4 p.m., police said.
