NOVATO, CA – A North Bay Firehouse Subs restaurant, as part of its corporate support for firefighters, donated more than $30,000 in gear to the Novato Fire Protection District and the Mountain Volunteer Fire Department of Calistoga at a celebration held this week in Novato.

On Tuesday, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation gave the equipment-grant awards at a celebration that included local first responders and Firehouse Subs franchisee Scott Smith at the business at 7505 Redwood Blvd. in Novato.

The Novato Fire Protection District received 12 sets of bunker gear, valued at $22,190, equipment that will be used for the local youth Fire Explorers, a program between the district and the Learning for Life organization, according to management.
