Hawthorne Country Store To Celebrate Chick Day At San Diego Stores

SAN DIEGO, CA — Hundreds of families are expected to flock to Hawthorne Country Store March 9 for its annual Chick Day celebration.

More than 100 varieties of baby poultry will be available during the event at Hawthorne Country Store locations in Escondido, Fallbrook and Santee.

"More and more families are finding that chickens are pets that come with great benefits, such as producing protein, creating fertilizer, and recycling waste," said Heather Thelen, owner of Hawthorne Country Store. "We are excited to once again bring this popular event to our communities and share all our chicken knowledge."

Hundreds of families attend the event each year to expand their chicken flocks and poultry knowledge, according to Hawthorne Country Store. The family-owned store is committed to flock education and spreading awareness on homesteading trends and topics.

The Chick Day event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at all three stores.

There will also be a Peep Show from 6-8 p.m. March 8. The ticketed event costs $50 and covers two adults ages 21 and over. The event will offer hors d'oeuvres and beverages, and give customers the first pick of rare, exotic and the best egg laying breeds.
