SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Smoke that caused passengers to evacuate from an airplane on Friday at San Francisco International Airport came from a passenger's laptop, American Airlines officials said.

Miami-bound American Airlines Flight 2045 was boarding when passengers were ordered to evacuate due to smoke in the cabin. The source of the smoke reportedly came from a laptop inside a passenger's bag, the airline said.

"The bag was quickly removed by our crew members and all customers exited the aircraft," the airline said.

One passenger was transported to a hospital after suffering minor injuries while exiting the aircraft during the evacuation. Some passengers exited via an emergency slide while others used the jet bridge connected from the aircraft to the airport terminal gate, the airline said.

Another three people suffered minor injuries but did not need to be taken to a hospital, airport officials said.
