Bay Area Memorial Day 2024: Here Is Your Holiday Weekend Forecast

Expect some clouds and cooler weather along with the sunshine.

BAY AREA — Most of the Bay Area can look forward to great outdoor barbecues with a sunny and warm Memorial Day, according to the latest forecasts. Some area started Friday in light drizzle, temperatures in the 50s, and May Gray clouds.

“Expect cooler temperatures, breezy winds, and more coastal clouds today. We may even see a little bit of drizzle this morning and tonight,” the National Weather Service Bay Area tweeted Friday morning.

However, temperatures will continue to warm throughout the next few days, culminating in predicted highs in the upper 70s in most areas on Monday.

The South Bay can expect a high of 68 Saturday, 75 Sunday, and 76 Monday, with a sprinkling of clouds predicted on each day. The East Bay will see highs of 64 Saturday, 67 Sunday, and 68 Monday. The Tri-Valley will also see highs of 76 Monday, while around Napa, temperatures will rise to 77 Sunday.

San Francisco, the Peninsula, and coastal areas will remain considerably cooler, with highs of 61 Saturday, 62 Sunday, and 63 Monday, with heavy cloud cover.

Anyone planning to go to the mountains or Tahoe can look forward to high in the upper 60s throughout the weekend, though anyone south of Highway 50 should pack an umbrella just in case.

This year, Memorial Day is indeed the start of summer: highs are expected to stay in the 70s for much of next week. Further inland, highs will reach as high as 85 on Thursday.
