BAY AREA — Two days after losing electricity in a potent pineapple express atmospheric storm, more than 54,000 PG&E customers remain without power Tuesday afternoon in the Bay Area.

The North Bay has the most homes and businesses waiting to be reenergized with more than 25,000 customers affected.

In the South Bay more than 15,000 customers are still in the dark.

The Peninsula has more than 12,000.

San Francisco has less than 1,000 customers without power.

The East Bay has almost completely recovered, with fewer than 200 customers waiting for their electricity to be restored.

PG&E officials say power has been restored to over a million customers in the utility's service area since Sunday.
