Pile Burn On Angel Island Causing Smoke: BAQMD

The Bay Area Quality Management District recommends avoiding exposure to the smoke.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A pile burn aimed to reduce hazardous fuel loads is underway Monday morning on Angel Island, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda and San Francisco counties may see smoke. The air district is advising residents to avoid exposure to the smoke.

The burn is scheduled to continue through Wednesday. Air quality can be checked at at http://fire.airnow.gov.
