L.A. County mobilized an unprecedented response to the pandemic public health emergency in March of 2020. Since then, more than 50,000 L.A. County workers have served as Disaster Service Workers supporting the County's efforts to provide COVID-19 testing and vaccinations; shelter for people experiencing homelessness and food for those affected by the economic crisis, among many other services. L.A. County also provided life-saving medical care, much-needed mental health services, and support to small businesses, among many other services.
