SAN RAMON, CA — California High School's campus lockdown is cleared as of 12:31 p.m. following an extensive search, San Ramon police said. Officers will remain on campus for the rest of the day.

The lockdown began earlier Thursday morning when front office staff received a call from an unidentified male who said that explosive devices had been placed throughout the school, and that someone would be arriving shortly to shoot up the school, police said. San Ramon police on campus immediately established a security perimeter around the school, and the nearby San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park.

Explosive detection K9s from several outside agencies joined officers in searching the school, parking lots, and exterior sports fields. The school was cleared at around noon, though officers remained on campus for the rest of the day. The school also went into secure campus mode, meaning that while students were free to move around the campus, outside individuals could not enter.
