5-Car Freeway Crash In Fairfield Results In Minor Injuries: CHP

The three left lanes of eastbound I-80 near the I-680 merge were initially blocked, resulting in traffic backups.

FAIRFIELD, CA — An accident involving five vehicles near the junction of Interstate Highways 80 and 680 in the Cordelia area of Fairfield resulted in minor injuries to at least one person, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday night.

None of the vehicles' occupants was taken to a hospital by ambulance, the CHP said.

The accident was first reported at 9:50 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-80 just east of the I-680 merge, the CHP said.
