TEMECULA, CA — A 50-year-old man was killed after a head-on collision with another vehicle in Temecula.

Glenmar Salcedo of Menifee was fatally injured around 5:30 p.m. Friday near Rancho California Road and the Interstate 15 overpass, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The agency said Salcedo, who was driving a Hyundai SUV, drove into oncoming traffic and immediately struck a vehicle, which pushed into a third vehicle.

Patrol deputes and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, however Salcedo was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The two individuals from the other vehicles were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries, authorities said.

"It is not believed intoxication played a role in this collision," the sheriff's department said. "It has not been determined why the Hyundai crossed into oncoming traffic."
