New NFL Players Return To Inspire TVUSD Students

Temecula Valley High School graduate Easton Gibbs and Great Oak High School graduate Brennan Jackson returned to TVUSD to uplift students.

TEMECULA, CA—Two football players from Temecula Valley and Great Oak High Schools have joined the NFL after the 2024 football draft. They recently returned to their hometown and former schools to encourage young students to pursue their dreams.

Great Oak High School graduate Brennan Jackson was drafted to play for the Los Angeles Rams in the fifth round, with the 154th pick in the NFL draft. Temecula Valley High School graduate Easton Gibbs was an undrafted free agent selected by the Seattle Seahawks. Both returned to uplift students, sign footballs, and even share special awards, Temecula Valley Unified School District spokesperson Jimmy Evans told Patch.

Gibbs, a recent graduate of the University of Wyoming, signed with the Seattle Seahawks at the end of the draft, according to the Wyoming Tribune. He visited with Vintage Hills students and received a "Golden Pineapple Award" and the "Husky Hero of the Week" award from the principal and students.

"He's done something that no one else has ever done in the history of this school," a school official told students at an assembly in Gibbs's honor. "He's been selected to play in the NFL."

He described Gibbs as "an inspiration to our community of Temecula, and we are so thrilled for you and your commitment to the NFL Seattle Seahawks. Way to go, Easton, and all the best in the Pacific Northwest."

Former Wolfpack Linebacker Brennan Jackson, selected by the Los Angeles Rams with the 154th pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, returned to Great Oak High School to speak at an assembly in front of current students.

The 6-foot, 265-pound linebacker graduated from Washington State University with 12.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks, according to The Rams.com. He was team captain in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

The athletic department gave him a Great Oak High School football jersey with his name and number emblazoned on the back.

In total, four Temecula graduates were selected to play for NFL teams in the 2024 draft selection.
