Temecula Family Medicine Opens Doors to New Facility
The new primary care clinic now gives Temecula residents convenient, compassionate care in their hometown

Temecula Family Medicine recently opened its doors to the Temecula community, celebrating the new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 7, 2022. The new primary care and family practice clinic, located at 41715 Winchester Road, Suite 107, Temecula, California, will help meet the needs of community members looking for compassionate, primary care when they need it most.
Temecula Family Medicine grew out of the Temecula 24 Hour Urgent Care practice. During the pandemic, when many other clinics closed their doors, Temecula 24 Hour Urgent Care was one of the few clinics in the area that remained open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During this time, the urgent care physicians noticed that many patients utilizing the facility either didn't have primary care physicians or were having difficulties seeing their PCPs, indicating a needs gap in the community.
Driven by the desire to fill this community need, Temecula 24 Hour Urgent Care owner Steven Schutz, alongside Dr. Allen Phelps, decided to create a new primary care facility a few doors down from the urgent care center. Out of this collaboration, Temecula Family Medicine was born, giving Temecula area residents local, full-service primary care and family medicine options.
Temecula Family Medicine offers care for various needs, from arthritis and cold care to well visits and X-rays. Drs. Allen Phelps and Ryan Dominguez are the practicing providers, with both having extensive medical experience.
Dr. Phelps holds over 26 years of experience in the medical field, including 13 years in urgent care. He began his career as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy, eventually progressing to X-ray technologist and then a Physician Assistant, earning his Doctorate of Medical Science degree, in addition to an MBA, MPAS, and MANSSS.
Dr. Dominguez brings over two decades of experience to his work at Temecula Family Medicine. He is a top-rated, board certified, Family Medicine Physician offering a variety of services, including wellness exams, treatment for sleep disorders, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, medically-supervised weight loss, and more. He has been voted by San Diego Magazine as one of the area's "Top Doctors" for seven consecutive years.
“During the COVID pandemic, one thing became abundantly clear: Temecula residents didn’t have access to the quality primary care services they needed to care for themselves and their families,” said Dr. Phelps. “With this in mind, we sought to create a new clinic and level of care that Temecula residents deserve right here in their community.
