Teen Seriously Injured After Fall On Trails: Avon Police

The man reported they had become disoriented and were trying to find their way back when the female had fallen, police said.

AVON, CT — A teenager suffered serious injuries after falling while walking on a trail, police said.

At 11:50 p.m. Saturday, police received a call from a man who reported that he and a female friend were walking the trails near Brian Lane, police said.

The man reported that they had become disoriented and were trying to find their way back when the female had fallen from the rocky ledge, police said.

The man was unable to find the woman, police added. Local and surrounding fire departments responded, and they found the 18-year-old female who was reported to be in and out of consciousness and had sustained several significant injuries, but none appeared to be life-threatening, police said.

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

"Upon initial investigation, it appears that this was an accident fall with no suspicious circumstances, and further follow-ups with the female party will be conducted. All families have been notified of this incident," police said.
