Earthquake Hits Durham Saturday

The temblor hit Durham and residents from nearby communities also reported feeling it on Saturday morning.

DURHAM, CT — A magnitude 1.9 earthquake struck Durham early Saturday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake was centered east northeast of Durham, the USGS data shows.

According to the USGS's self-reporting feature, where residents can say whether they felt the temblor, residents in East Hampton, Killingworth and Middletown said they felt the quake.

The quake struck around 7:50 a.m. and was just over four miles in depth.
