Greenwich Officers of the Month Catch Sex Offender

The officers were able to help catch a man who tried to lure a 15-year-old girl into his car.

GREENWICH, CT - The Greenwich Police Officer of the Month award for February actually has been given to two Greenwich officers.

Officers Allan Pesce and Aran Santilli were recognized for their efforts apprehending Level 3 sex offender following an incident in town.

"The suspect lured a 15-year-old girl to his car and placed her in danger," according to a police announcement.

Pesce and Santilli were able to identify the suspect who has a lengthy criminal history, several aliases and no permanent home, according to police. "The officers developed a clever investigative plan and were able to quickly locate the suspect and coordinate with the White Plains, NY Police Department to affect the arrest."

Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray declined to reveal further details on the incidents as prosecutors are in the process of extraditing the suspect to Greenwich. He said details would be released when the suspect is formally charged.
