MASHANTUCKET, CT — As Foxwoods celebrates its 30th anniversary, the resort casino is announcing a massive renovation and expansion project that will add an indoor water park, family entertainment center, and hotel, The New York Post reported. Dubbed Great Wolf Lodge at Mashantucket, the project is scheduled for completion in 2024.

The casino is partnering with Wisconsin-based theme park Great Wolf Lodge on the project, a family resort chain known for its water-centered amusement parks that include accommodations, restaurants, arcades and children's activities. Foxwoods would be the first Great Wolf Lodge location in the state, according to The Hartford Business Journal.

The expansion will take place on 15 acres adjacent to Foxwoods. Foxwoods, which opened in 1992, is currently the largest resort casino in the region with 340,000 square-feet for gaming.
