Ledyard's Work Week Weather: Melting 7-Day Forecast

After a foot of snow fell this past weekend, we'll let you know what to expect during the work week and next weekend.

We can kind of stop saying that we’re waiting for Connecticut’s first major snowstorm of the season after Saturday’s storm.

The immediate southern half of the state received a foot or more of snow and interior sections received six inches or more, except for far northern Connecticut, which received just an inch or two of snow.

But good news for those of you who don’t like snow, none is forecast through next weekend and even better news, temps will be above freezing each day, and whatever snow is on the ground will melt away on a daily basis.

The greatest issue is that it will be below freezing each night, so please be careful while driving or walking at night - or in the early morning hours - as whatever melts will freeze overnight.

Here is the detailed 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. North winds around 5 mph... Becoming southwest this afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Partly sunny. A slight chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 40s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain showers. Lows in the mid 30s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening.

Wednesday: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy in the evening...then becoming mostly clear. Lows in the mid 20s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 30s.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow after midnight. Lows around 30. Chance of snow 30 percent.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow in the morning...then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Chance of snow 30 percent.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy in the evening...then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s.

Saturday and Sunday: Sunny temps near 40 on Saturday and maybe mid 40s on Sunday!
