Tribe Awarded Grant For Drug Production Facility Study: Report

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe has been awarded a grant to explore opening a generic drug production facility in the state.

LEDYARD, CT — The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, which owns Foxwoods Resort Casino, has been awarded a $2.5 million grant and will explore starting a generic drug production facility in Connecticut, according to The Hartford Business Journal.

The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration grant awarded the funds, which will be used to develop “a comprehensive feasibility study” for the drug production facility.
