3 New Board Members Join Silver Hill Hospital In New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, CT — Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan announced this week Robert Miller, Ellen Breslow Newhouse and Ray Quinlan have been named to the facility's Board of Directors.

According to a news release provided by Silver Hill Hospital, all three new board members were appointed to standard three-year terms, bringing the total number of members to 16.

Additionally, current board member Susan Salice assumes the role of vice-chair.

"By adding Robert, Ellen, and Ray to our board of directors, we gain new perspectives and a blend of business acumen and grassroots advocacy that enhances our ability to deliver exceptional care to patients and their families," Andrew Gerber, president and medical director of Silver Hill Hospital, said in a news release. "Their strategic expertise will be instrumental in guiding Silver Hill toward service excellence and sustainable growth, ensuring we remain at the forefront of psychiatric care."

Miller has more than four decades of experience in media and non-profit leadership, and he currently serves as chairman of the board at Freedom Institute, an outpatient treatment and recovery center in New York City, which operates under the Silver Hill system.

He is also the owner and CEO of Miller Publishing Group and Chairman of Common Sense Growth, an investment fund in partnership with Common Sense Media focused on creating a safer environment for kids and families around media and technology.

Newhouse brings a blend of healthcare governance, marketing expertise, and personal advocacy to the board. She is an at-large trustee for Montefiore Einstein Hospital and a member of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Women's Board. Newhouse has been a writer, reporter, editor, and integrated database marketer for Conde Nast Publications and journalist at other premium lifestyle magazines.

As co-founder of Daughters InSanity, a group for adult daughters caring for cognitively impaired parents, and member of Warrior Moms that brings together mothers of adult children with mental health illnesses, Newhouse brings a personal touch to her understanding of mental health challenges experienced by loved ones and families.

Quinlan adds strategic and operational insight to the board. He has served as CEO and chairman of Sallie Mae Corporation and has held executive roles for CIT, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, where he managed large-scale operations and led strategic initiatives.

He is currently a senior advisor with Tidalwave.ai, a mortgage processing startup.
