A joint production between Norwalk's CRYSTAL THEATRE in collaboration with THE TOWN PLAYERS OF NEW CANAAN.

This smash Off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” In Act II, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. We learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane!

We are so excited to welcome headliner PATTY ROSBOROUGH 

Patty is one of the top headlining American comics in the country with her hard hitting, high-energy style of comedy. Beside her stand-up comedy, she is an actor and television writer. From 1990 to 1993, she co-hosted Short Attention Span Theater with Jon Stewart. Her stand-up comedy has been televised on COMEDY CENTRAL, A&amp;E, SHOWTIME, BBC COMEDY SHOW, and VH1. Her film credits include minor roles in JACOB'S LADDER (1990) and GOODBYE BABY (2007). Bio includes co-hosting a morning radio show. Rosborough has appeared on the stand-up comedy television series THE WORLD STANDS UP, and headlined at JUST FOR LAUGHS, an international comedy festival in Montreal. In 2000, she was winner of Ladies of Laughter, a stand-up comedy competition.

Additionally, we welcome up-and-coming, NYC based comedian MOLLY KORNFELD

The daughter of two comics, she is following in their footsteps to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Coming up on her 10th year in comedy, Molly performs at clubs all over New York, including New York Comedy Club, Governor's Comedy Clubs, the Stand, the Tiny Cupboard, and QED. She has also been featured in numerous comedy festivals, such as the Boston Comedy Festival, Woman in Comedy Festival, Ladies of Laughter, and Rogue Island Comedy Festival. She was named as a Comic to Watch in the 2022 New York Comedy Festival.

Curtain Call

Most people know that a career in show biz is difficult – so difficult that some actors often go to extremes to get a job, but none more so than Michael Dorsey in the new musical hit, Tootsie, playing in The Kweskin Theatre, Stamford, September 13 through October 5. Curtain Call, in residence at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, kicks off its 34th season of 12 full-scale productions with this recent Tony Award winning musical based on the 1982 hit film of the same name. “When I saw Tootsie on Broadway, I hadn’t laughed so hard at a show in a long time,” said Curtain Call executive director, Lou Ursone. “It came as no surprise to me when the Tony Awards came around, that Tootsie won one of its Tony’s for BEST BOOK OF A MUSICAL,” Ursone added. Based on the hit comedy film starring Dustin Hoffman and ranked as one of the best comedies of all-time on American Film Institute's list of "100 Years...100 Laughs," Tootsie had audiences rolling in the aisles in what was hailed as "Broadway's funniest new musical!" (The New York Post). With music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner David Yazbek (The Band's Visit, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and a laugh-out-loud book by Tony Award-winner Robert Horn (13 the Musical, Shucked), Tootsie received a staggering 11 Tony Award Nominations, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. In Tootsie we see Michael Dorsey - a skilled actor with a talent for not keeping a job. Desperate and out-of-work, Michael makes a last-ditch effort at making his dreams come true...by disguising himself as actress Dorothy Michaels. In a meteoric rise to Broadway stardom, Michael (disguised as Dorothy) soon has audiences enamored while falling for his co-star, Julie. It isn't long before Michael realizes that maintaining his greatest acting success is going to be much harder than he expected.

Directing Tootsie is Nancy L. Meyer, who is joined by music director, Zachary Kampler, and choreographer, Kelly Nayden. (All three are Curtain Call veterans.) Set design is by Peter Barbieri, Jr., costume design is by Megan Latte Morello, lighting design by Andrew Patashnik and stage management by Tommy DeSalvo, Laura Castiglione and Victoria Clougher. (Patashnik is a recent college grad who started out at Curtain Call at age 5 and now returns as a working professional theatre artist!) Starring as Michael/Dorothy is Tyler Panek. Others in the cast include: Jade Anderson, Brian Borowka, Joe Colavito, Ke Ding, Neil Flores, Marc Fontaine, Donna Fox, Jean Gray, Karen Heck, Tim Huber, Rachel Lese, Shannel Dawn Lewis, Jimmy Meisterich, Renata Montalto, Kelly Nayden, Misha Polonsky, James Ring-Howell, Rhianna Ring-Howell, Jennifer Silverman, Kathryn Tracy, Samantha Van Nostrand and Rachel Zenhausern. 
Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm beginning September 13. Two Thursday evenings at 7:30 are scheduled for September 26 and October 3. Curtain Call was voted Fairfield County's BEST LOCAL THEATRE GROUP ten years running in the Annual Readers' Poll of the Fairfield County Weekly and has received similar “BEST OF” awards from Stamford Magazine and StamfordPlus magazine for 2008 through 2018. Curtain Call received The Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2011 and the ACE Award for Excellence in Arts &amp; Culture from the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County in 2016.

In this morning intro session: <ul><li>Learn the process, experiment and develop your skills. Create prints on paper using the cyanotype historical photographic process. </li><li>Learn how the non-toxic cyanotype chemicals (potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate) react in exposure to sun/UV light to produce permanent, magical blue and white images. </li><li>Use botanical specimens and common objects to produce one-of-a-kind compositions involving both random and intentional mark-marking. The results are surprising, ethereal and delightful! </li></ul>

2nd Annual Project Pink: New Canaan Breast Cancer Awareness

THIS OPEN HOUSE IS FREE for adults 50+. We would like you to see us in ACTION at a Lunch and Learn Program on campus at CT STATE Community College Norwalk (formerly NCC), 188 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT EAST CAMPUS!
John Coperine is a musician (guitar, piano, banjo), singer and songwriter. He will be playing some of his original songs along with some singalong favorites. His original songs center around love, life and loss, family and sometimes politics. His goal is to entertain us while also touching our hearts. He hopes to leave us smiling, feeling connected and inspired by the power of music. 
We start with coffee, tea, cookies and pastries at 12:15 pm in the first floor Atrium on the East Campus. You can bring your own brown bag lunch too if you wish. John's presentation and music will start at 1 pm in the Forum Auditorium just off the Atrium. You can park (free) behind the East Campus building. Enter through the rear entrance. It is handicapped accessible. You will see and hear us on your right as you enter. Join us for coffee and a nosh and enjoy the great music. You need to register at the table in the Atrium. We hope to see you on Friday the 13th! It will be a great afternoon!
