New Canaan Students Go to the Head of the Class

Go to the Head of the Class recognizes the academic and athletic achievements of local students with information as supplied by the respective students' schools.

The following students have earned a 3.30 or higher term average to receive the Dean's Award for academic excellence at Colgate University for the fall 2015 semester.

Brittany Word, a resident of New Canaan and Cinema and Photography major, was named to the Dean's List in Ithaca College's School of Communications for the fall 2015 semester.

Jaime Warlich has been named to the Fall 2015 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Jaime is a Media Communication major.

George Harvey, a New Canaan resident and a student at the Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,100 students who made the Dean's List in the Fall 2015 semester.

William Nemiroff, of New Canaan, has been named to the Dean's List at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for the Fall 2015 semester.

• Parker Nelson, the son of Mr. and Dr. Paul R. Nelson of New Canaan, and 2012 graduate of St. Albans School. He is majoring in English at Bates.
• Matthew Parrino, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Parrino of New Canaan, and 2013 graduate of New Canaan High School. He is majoring in mathematics, physics and engineering at Bates.
• Cuyler Hedlund, the daughter of Alison A. Keating of New Canaan, and Robert G. Hedlund of New Canaan, and 2013 graduate of Greenwich Academy. She is majoring in English and art and visual culture at Bates.
• Annie Horstmeyer, the daughter of Elizabeth H. Sanford of New Canaan, and Jack R. Horstmeyer of Pound Ridge, N., and 2012 graduate of New Canaan High School. She is majoring in environmental studies at Bates.
