70-Year-Old Man Pistol-Whipped During Orange Carjacking: PD

ORANGE, CT — Orange police had a busy Friday between a violent carjacking and an unrelated chase involving a stolen vehicle.

The carjacking occurred at the Valero fuel station on the Post Road shortly before 6 a.m. Two men threatened a 70-year-old victim with a gun, but the man didn't immediately give up his keys, police said. One suspect punched the victim and the other pistol-whipped him before stealing the car, police added.

The vehicle is a red 2016 Nissan Altima with Connecticut plate BA-02114. A third suspect remained in a white vehicle, which was stolen out of Norwalk yesterday and recovered in Guilford today, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Orange police at 203-891-2138.

Officers apprehended four suspected robbers on the Post Road late Friday morning after a car chase that is unrelated to the carjacking, according to police.

A white SUV was stolen in North Haven and was being used in multiple robberies in the area, police said.

Orange officers located the SUV on the Post Road and four suspects ran from the vehicle, police said. Officers set up a perimeter and apprehended the four suspects. Evidence from the robberies was located in the vehicle, police said.
