EverWonder is open Monday- Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $7.00 per person, and children under the age of 1 years old are free. Museum members are free. Parking at the museum is also free.

Introducing STEAM Mondays! EverWonder is now open on Mondays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. STEAM Mondays features different summer inspired science, technology, art, and math activities. Admission for STEAM Mondays ranges from $10.00 to $15.00 per child, and includes admission to the museum for the child. Parents will not be charged for participating in STEAM Mondays but, will be charged admission into the museum.

Story Lab for Young Explorers meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am to 11:00 am, except for Thursday, August 11th, Tuesday, August 23rd, and Thursday, August 25th. This 30 minute program of STEM themed stories, activities, and crafts takes place in the EverWonder classroom. Parents must stay with their children during the program. Program is free with museum admission.

New Art Labs: Paper Coil Snails

Starting on Tuesday, July 26th, come check out EverWonder’s new art lab, Paper Coil Snails. In Paper Coil Snails, children will decorate strips of colored construction paper and then learn a coiling technique to make coiled paper snails.

STEAM Monday: Tie Dye Day

Calling all artists and chemists! Children will each receive a t-shirt to tie dye. We will show them different techniques to get different designs featuring a wide array of colors. This program is geared for children ages 5 and up. Price: $15.00 NONMEMBERS | $7.20 MEMBERS per child. Price includes museum admission. *Parents will not be charged for participating in STEAM Mondays but, will be charged admission into the museum.

Calling all explorers! Children will learn about icebergs and the arctic biome through putting large chunks of ice into water to mimic icebergs.

Science Lab: Layers of the Rainforest

Children will learn about the different layers of the rainforest and then identify them. They will place animals where they belong in each layer of the rainforest in an art activity.

Weekend Workshop: Bead Coding

Children will code their names in DNA, Binary or Morse code. The cost per child is $10 for non-members and $9 for members. Cost does not include museum admission.

STEAM Monday: Fossil Day

Children will learn about fossils and then create their own! They will use molds and plaster of Paris to make their own fossils.

Science Lab: Tracking Animal Biomes

In this scavenger hunt style lab, children will get a map of the museum with colored sections representing different biomes. They will have to explore each biome and identify animal footprints in each biome.

Science Lab: Cactus Experiment

Children will learn about how cacti survive in the desert. They will then conduct two experiments to show how their needles are helpful and how they store water.

Formed in January 2011 by a group of parents, EverWonder Children’s Museum (incorporated as Newtown Children’s Museum, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring children and families in Northern Fairfield County through the use of hands-on museum exhibits and demonstrations. Museums hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 am -5 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. The museum is located at 31 Pecks Lane Newtown, CT 06470. Regular admission is $7.00 for visitors over 1 year of age.
