ID Of Motorcyclist Killed In Woodbridge Crash Released: UPDATE

The crash caused the temporary shutdown of the road on Monday afternoon while police investigated.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A Naugatuck man, Erick Wilson, 29, was killed in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on Monday afternoon in Woodbridge, police said.

At 3:20 p.m., the Woodbridge Police Department, along with Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services personnel, responded to a motor vehicle accident, which occurred on Amity Road near the Landin Street intersection.

The collision involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said. He has been identified as Erick Wilson, 29, of Naugatuck, CT.

The nature of the injuries, and the rider's current condition, were not disclosed, but the operator was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment following the 3:20 p.m. crash.

Woodbridge police were investigating the crash, and as a result, Amity Road was temporarily closed between Bradley Road and Landin Street. Whether any other vehicles were involved was not disclosed.

"Due to heavy traffic in the area(s) of both Amity Road and Litchfield Tpke we are urging motorists to use an alternative route and avoid the area," police officials stated on the department's Facebook page.
